Black Friday 2025 GENERAL FAQ

Kindly note that early access starts at 6:40 A.M. PT on Friday, November 28th.
Everyone will be able to access the site on Friday, November 28th, at 7 A.M. PT.
Active subscribers will be able to access the site 20 minutes early by simply logging in to your Bookish account on Friday, November 28th, at 6:40 A.M. PT. Active subscribers' accounts will be automatically given access—no password is needed to access.
Discount codes: No discount codes can be used during Black Friday, including on doorbuster items. This includes the subscriber discount code.
Rewards points: Reward points can be used, but there are some restrictions. Due to specific discounts that will be offered, reward points will not be eligible for use on certain products. Please view the portion "What discounts are available during Black Friday?" or the "Are there any limitations during Black Friday?" portion for more details.
Specific discounts for Black Friday will be announced on November 24th by 5 P.M. PT.
We will be sharing sneak peeks of what items you can expect to be offered during Black Friday via our Social Media and this FAQ and Spoiler Page throughout the month of November. We will be updating this page every Tuesday by 5 P.M. PT to include spoilers we've announced as well.

-Ensure the correct shipping address is set to be your default shipping address prior to 11/26.
-If you are worried about an item selling out before you check out, checkout with that item ASAP and, once the order is submitted, come back to shop! We recommend looking at what items will be available, create a "must have" list, and purchase the items on that list ASAP. For all items not on your "must have" list, be sure to come back and shop for them after your "must have" list has been purchased. Note that shipping and fees will apply per order, as orders cannot be merged.
-Set an alarm on your phone for 5 minutes before the sale starts. This way, you can be ready to log in to your Bookish Account with ease and be ready on time for the drops!
-If you do not live in the PT timezone, we highly recommend looking up what time 7 A.M. PT is in your timezone. Don't let the time zones rob you of your Bookish goodies! For example, Bookish is based in Arizona, so 7 A.M. PT is not 7 A.M. our time!
-Set up your express pay for easier checkout before 11/27. This would include things such as: ShopPay, PayPal, ApplePay, and GooglePay, which will ensure you have a speedy checkout. If you are unable to use these express pay options, have your card information on hand before the sale, including the billing address for your card. Please note: Express pay options are not available for use to purchase monthly subscription boxes.

Limitations:
- Orders will NOT be combined after checkout.
- Doorbuster products will be limited to 1 per person (per item) until 11 A.M. on Friday, November 29th. After 11 A.M. PT, this limitation will be removed.
- No additional discounts can be used (site-wide, including on doorbuster items).
- The only additional discounts that can be used are discounts earned from our rewards program. However, there are some restrictions. Due to specific discounts that will be offered, reward points will not be eligible for use on certain products. Please view the portion "What discounts are available during Black Friday?"
We will not be restocking any books and most other items.
The only items we would be able to restock are apparel, candles, and non-monthly box items; however, this is not guaranteed.
Kindly note: If someone cancels within 48 hours of placing their order, when we cancel their order we will restock the items from their order. Because of this, you may see some items (including books) be restocked during Black Friday.
Yes. The site will be closed down a few times to accommodate Black Friday.
It will be closed:
- November 26th: The site will be shut down starting at 4:00 P.M. PT and will remain down until early access begins at 6:40 A.M. PT on November 28th.
- December 2nd: The site will be shut down at 7:00 A.M. PT until 10:30 A.M. PT.
Kindly note, that only active Bookish Box and Darkly Box subscribers will have access to shop from 6:40 A.M. PT to 7:00 A.M. PT on November 28th.

There will be no Members Only product listings in the Members Only Shop after November 26th because of Black Friday. You can find the items in their respective collection or their respective Doorbusters collection. The only exception is our Shop Subscription.
All orders placed during the Black Friday Sale will have a 6-8 week processing time.
Orders placed before or after the Black Friday Sale will be processed in the processing time stated on our website at that time.
Kindly note: While not all orders will take 6-8 weeks to ship, we cannot guarantee your order will ship earlier than our 6-8 week processing time.
No, due to the high volume of orders The Bookish Shop will experience, we are only offering shipping for online purchases at this time.
No orders will be combined during the Black Friday Sale due to the high volume The Bookish Shop will experience. This applies to domestic and international orders.
Changes: All sales are final during the Black Friday Sale. We are unable to make any adjustments (of any kind) to your order once it has been placed. Please be extra careful when submitting your order. We recommend double checking quantities of products in your cart, that all items in your cart are correct, and that your shipping address is correct before submitting your order.
Cancelations: Orders can be canceled within 48 hours of ordering or until the order has shipped, whichever occurs first. We work quickly to get your order in the works, so it is possible your order may ship before you reach the 48-hour mark. If you order has shipped, we are unable to cancel your order even if it has not been 48 hours.
There is no cart save feature. The system we use does not offer a cart save feature, so we are unfortunately unable to hold any items in your cart.
Yes, there will be doorbuster items for the Black Friday Sale.
All doorbuster items are items that will not be offered at a discount. All products that will be offered as a doorbuster will be stated on this page by 5 P.M. PT on Tuesday, November 25th.
When shopping during the Black Friday Sale, you'll know a product is a doorbuster because it will not be discounted and it will have a doorbuster icon on the listing photo. We will also have a collection called "doorbusters" to help.
Black Friday 2025 Early Access FAQ
When: Early access starts on Friday, November 28th, at 6:40 A.M. PT. and ends on Friday, November 28th, at 7:00 A.M. PT.
Who: Early access is exclusive to active Bookish Box and/or Darkly Box subscribers. An active subscriber is someone whose account is set to active, not canceled. Please note that skipping your renewal does not set your account to canceled.
Active Bookish Box and Darkly Box subscribers will be able to access the site by simply logging in to their Bookish account associated with their active Bookish Box and/or Darkly Box subscription starting at 6:40 A.M. PT on Friday, November 28th.
Active subscribers' accounts will be automatically given access to shop.
No password is needed to access.
If your November 20th renewal fails, please adjust your account as needed to ensure it can successfully renew on the next renewal attempt. Your account will re-attempt to renew 4 times (November 21st - November 23rd). After the 4th attempt, your subscription is cancelled, and your account will no longer be set up to be given early access.
You would then want to re-subscribe when we open slots. You would need to re-subscribe by November 27th, at 11:59 P.M. PT in order to receive early access. However, we are currently operating off of a waiting list system for both The Bookish Box and The Darkly Box. Join a waiting list here.

Yes. An easy way to check that you have access before early access begins is to log in to your Bookish account associated with your active Bookish Box and/or Darkly Box subscription. Next, attempt to access the collection called "Members Only Shop." If you have access to this collection, your account is set to be given early access.
If you cannot access this collection, reach out to our Customer Service Team so they can address any issues to ensure you have access during the Black Friday early access.
Kindly note: If your subscription is canceled (by manually canceling or not having a successful November 20th renewal resulting in your subscription being automatically canceled) after you test that you have access, the access is revoked. Your subscription account must be set as active during early access to shop.
Kindly note: Skipping your November 20th renewal does not revoke your access. As long as your subscription status is set to active, not canceled, you will have early access. However, if you skip your November 20th renewal and that puts you at your 4th consecutive skip, you'll temporarily lose access to the Members Only shop and Early Access at 6:40 A.M. PT.
If you have skipped 4 consecutive times, contact our Customer Service Team at hello@thebookishbox.com once you sucessfully renew for a subscription, and they will help make sure you are eligible for Early Access at 6:40 A.M. PT.

-At 6:40 A.M. PT on November 28th, refresh the homepage on our site! The site will then be open and accessible to active subscribers, so your page will need to be refreshed to see it.
-Our office will be closed for Thanksgiving on 11/27, so we recommend checking and updating your account information as soon as possible. That way, if you need to reach out to customer service, they can assist you before the holiday.
- Due to hight traffic on the site, if you are getting the "scroll wheel of death" while logging in:
1. Go to the homepage.
2. Press Log in.
3. Press forgot password.
4. You will be directed to the login landing page.
5. Press cancel, then proceed to login.

If you are sure you are in logged in to the account associated with your Bookish or Darkly Box Subscription AND you are sure your subscription status is set to active, not cancelled, please reach out to our Customer Service Team (hello@thebookishbox.com).
An easy way to check before Early Access goes live is to log in to your Bookish Account associated with your active subscription, then attempt to have access to the collection called "MEMBERS ONLY SHOP."
If you have access to this collection, your account is set to have access during Early Access.
